The LM82 Series is a top-guided, single-seat high-pressure globe control valve built on the LM8 platform, designed for precise flow regulation in demanding high-pressure and high-temperature service across oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation, and chemical processing applications. The pressure unbalanced plunger design combined with a straight-through floating seat delivers high control accuracy and consistently tight shutoff across the full pressure and temperature operating envelope, from cryogenic service at -196°C through to elevated process temperatures of 593°C. A porous multi-stage trim sleeve is incorporated into the internals to break down pressure drop across multiple stages, substantially reducing cavitation intensity and hydrodynamic noise compared to single-stage trim designs, and extending internal component service life under high differential pressure conditions.
Features
- Top-guided plunger design with floating seat provides stable, accurate flow control and repeatable shutoff at high differential pressures, maintaining Class IV to VI leakage performance across the full service life of the valve
- Porous multi-stage trim sleeve distributes pressure recovery across multiple flow restriction stages, suppressing cavitation inception and reducing aerodynamic and hydrodynamic noise in high-pressure-drop service without requiring external noise attenuation equipment
- Broad pressure class coverage from PN160 through ANSI CL2500 addresses the full range of high-pressure duties from process control through to critical HP/HT steam, hydrogen, and reactor feed applications
- Wide material selection across carbon steel, low-temperature carbon steel, chrome-moly alloys, and austenitic stainless steels covers sour service, cryogenic, oxidising, and high-temperature hydrocarbon process environments within a single valve series
- Rangeability of 50:1 with equal percentage, linear, or quick-open characteristic options allows the valve to be precisely matched to the control loop requirements of the process without over-sizing or under-sizing the installed flow coefficient
- Flexible graphite and graphite-PTFE braided packing options provide low fugitive emission performance and long re-packing intervals across the wide temperature range, meeting contemporary environmental and HSE requirements for process plant valve packing standards
